Mission:
Members of the Harewood Community Centre Cooperative strive to work with all community members to improve health in its broadest terms by ensuring access to health, education and social programs that promote physical, spiritual, emotional, and social well-being.
Goals:
1. To establish an accessible, sustainable community centre.
2. To develop and nurture collaborative partnerships that foster the health and wellness of the community.
3. To support efforts to expand the range of art and cultural and recreational activities available to the community.

John Horn’s talk at the AGM last Wednesday was awesome! He showed a picture of Harewood dated about 1950 (it was mostly farmland), and showed its development to the present. Some stats revealing that we are mainly composed of couples and singles, aren’t rich (monetarily), but have a lot going for us (recreational centres, new mall, land to develop, etc.) Then he told us there may be money available to build a small community centre! Right on! This seems to have encouraged the group to keep on going, and someone new to the organisation volunteered to join the Board! Way to go, Doris!
The new committee has some work ahead, but they hopefully know that they are supported by the community.
