About HC3
Harewood Community Centre Cooperative (HC3) is a non-profit, member-owned and operated Community Service Cooperative.
HC3 works to bring together a variety of community agencies to work co-operatively in order to enhance the quality of life for the people of Harewood and surrounding areas.
The steering committee for HC3 was formed in November 2004 in response to a needs assessment for the Harewood Community that was completed by the Harewood Family of Community Schools in May 2004. This needs assessment called for the establishment of a community centre that would provide locally based health and wellness services and resources.
The goal of HC3 is the Health of Harewood. We define Health in the broadest sense. In addition to primary health care, this may encompass counselling services, alternative health, art/dance/music classes, pilates and yoga, literacy programs, senior’s health, meeting space, community gardens and whatever else our members – YOU – wish to offer. What does Health mean to you? How can we build a healthier community?
Organizations that may offer services through HC3 include:
- Harewood Neighbourhood Association
- Harewood Family of Community Schools
